Since 2024, Kate Compton Barr has been a leading voice on the harmful impact of gerrymandering on our democracy. She has run two (losing) political campaigns centered on how voting power is stripped from American citizens when politicians choose their voters, rather than the other way around.

She was the founder of Pip & Grow, where she built a social, eco-conscious company focused on child safety and wellness, demonstrating her commitment to innovative, mission-driven solutions. During her tenure, Pip & Grow won national awards, and Kate was named to the Forbes Next 1000 list.
She has served as PTO president at her children's local school, chaired the board of the Davidson and Cornelius Child Development Center, and served on the Town of Davidson Planning Board.
