
Cameron Pruette
Cameron Pruette (he/him) is a nonprofit leader and organizer in North Carolina. As Executive Director of the Freedom Center for Social Justice, Cameron has led intersectional advocacy efforts that empower marginalized communities across the South. His work focuses on building progressive power through strategic coalition-building and grassroots organizing, mobilizing thousands of voters around issues of equality, justice, and representation.

Cameron brings extensive experience in civic engagement and community advocacy to the fight against gerrymandering. He believes that democracy works best when every voter has an equal voice and fair political representation. Through his organizing and advocacy work, he has helped build coalitions that strengthen communities and expand participation in the democratic process.
Beyond his nonprofit leadership, Cameron serves on the Metropolitan Public Transportation Authority (MPTA) in Mecklenburg County. Drawing on both his professional experience in human resource management and his lived experience as a transit rider, he advocates for equitable infrastructure, accessible public services, and greater public accountability.
Throughout his career, his advocacy, and his public service, Cameron has demonstrated a commitment to building stronger communities through collaboration, civic engagement, and collective action. He and his husband, Xzaviar, proudly call Charlotte home.
